Social Science Research Methods Graduate Certificate

This certificate will benefit students with an interest in learning broadly about research methods—including quantitative and qualitative approaches, diverse data collection techniques, and common methods of analysis, visualization, and communication. It is ideal for students and working professionals who may or may not oversee research operations and need a multidisciplinary understanding of the diverse techniques used throughout the process of social scientific discovery.

- This is a hybrid program, with courses on-campus and online.
Declaring this Certificate
All prospective students must submit a certificate completion form to the program coordinator. Prospective students not yet attending CU Denver may need to complete additional steps related to admission, including as a non-degree seeking student.

These program requirements are subject to periodic revision by the academic department, and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences reserves the right to make exceptions and substitutions as judged necessary in individual cases. Therefore, the College strongly urges students to consult regularly with their Social Science advisor to confirm the best plans of study before finalizing them.

Certificate Requirements
- Students must complete a minimum of 12 credit hours from the approved courses.
- Students must earn a minimum grade of B- (2.7) in all courses taken at CU Denver and must achieve a minimum cumulative certificate GPA of 3.0. Courses taken using P+/P/F or S/U grading cannot apply to certificate requirements.
- Students must complete all credits for the certificate with CU Denver faculty.
Note: Course substitutions from other departments will be allowed with approval from the program coordinator.
